Travelocity bought out by Expedia for $280 million — can we lose the creepy guy now?

MASHABLE — Expedia has purchased Travelocity from Sabre Corp. for $280 million in cash, the companies announced on Friday.

“Travelocity is one of the most recognized travel brands in North America, offering thousands of travel destinations to more than 20 million travelers per month,” said Dara Khosrowshahi, Expedia, Inc. President and CEO, said in a statement provided to the SEC.

I’m blogging this story for one reason: I hate that creepy Travelocity guy. Hate him. Nothing about him I like. He looks creepy. He sounds creepy. He doesn’t make any sense. His look doesn’t make any sense. He’s like a Santa leprechaun elf. He just sits around in random places that no one else ever sits saying “Tra-Vel-Ocity!”

So this means he’s out, right? He’s gone? Has to. Only reason Someone would pay $280 million for Travelocity is to oust the creepy guy. Completely worth it. If I had it, I’d write a check right now.. then dropkick him off a bridge.
