The sun refuses to rise on a dreary spring day here in Boston. The air is heavy and warm, which is a nice change from what seemed a perpetual thin, cold, snowy mist in which we were stuck.
Masters week is over, which sucks, but we’ve still got some hot action rolling in. The NHL playoffs start this week, everybody and their brother is running for president, it’s the one year anniversary of the Nigerian #BringBackOurGirls kidnappings, and more.
It’s The Skinny. Here we go.
Just a day after Hillary Clinton formally announced her pungently predictable campaign for president, Florida Republican Marco Rubio announced his.
Rubio is a junior senator who’s “mentor” is Jeb Bush. This makes for some fun political drama, as Jeb Bush is also running.
The major names so far from the GOP are Ted Cruz, Rand Paul, Jeb Bush and Marco Rubio.

Alaskan Airlines Worker Stuck in Cargo Hold
Here’s a weird one. Alaska Airlines flight 448 had just taken off en route from Seattle to LA when the pilot and passengers heard substantial banging coming from below.
“There could be a person in there so we’re going to come back around,” the pilot told air traffic control.
As it turns out, an Alaskan Airlines baggage agent had fallen asleep on the job. When the plane closed up and took off, he was stuck inside. Fortunately, he was never in any real danger and the plane was in the air for just 14 minutes.

Russia + Iran Arms Deal
Russia has lifted a ban on the sale of sophisticated air-defense systems to Iran, much to the displeasure of the US and Israel.
“We don’t believe it’s constructive at this time for Russia to move forward with this,” State Department Spokeswoman Marie Harf said.
“Because it’s the Cup” starts tomorrow night. All games are on the NBC or USA networks, which is exciting.
Patrick Kane has been cleared to play for the Chicago Blackhawks, which is not good for other central division fans (me).

It wasn’t a big day as investors worry about big bank earnings today.
Under Armour, however, ain’t complaining. After UA-covered Spieth won the Masters in wire-to-wire fashion this weekend, the company’s stock jumped 1.6% on Monday.
Spieth, who was in the teens for total on and off-course earnings in golf, is expected to jump to #5 with his Masters win, behind only Tiger ($54.5 million), Phil ($50.7 million), Rory ($49.2 million) and Arnold Palmer ($40 million). Spieth will come in around $20 million.

LeBron threw down a triple-double last night and the Celtics locked up their first playoff appearance since 2013.
The regular season wraps up this week with the playoffs kicking off next week.
The boys are at Harbor Town in Hilton Head, South Carolina for the RBC Heritage. Jordan Spieth is in the field, because he’s a soldier.
Nelly, the rapper from like the 90s, was arrested in Tennessee for possession of methamphetamine and marijuana over the weekend. The incident occurred on his tour bus, which he used to blame others around him.
“I feel the need to take responsibility for my choices in needing to be more aware of all the people I associate with and allow onto my property.” he told TMZ.
