Yep, Rory’s back. He’s finished 2nd in like the last million tournaments. Today he broke through.
Technically, it was his first title since the PGA, but in the past five months he has five top-five finishes in eight starts, including four – yes, four– runners-up.
Rory basically cruised on Sunday. He entered with a 4-shot lead and coasted to a 3-shot lead with a casual 2-under 70.

And now we can officially laugh more at Tiger. While Eldrick is hacking it up with an 82, Rory is running the show across the pond. Tiger finished +13 in Phoenix; Rory finished -22 in Dubai. Ouch.
We’ve got a new guard in golf, folks. It’s the young guns. Rory, yes, but we also got the likes of Rickie, Reed, Spieth. These boys are good and they are NOT going away. Rory has 4 majors, just 1 less than Phil Mickelson. Phil is BY FAR the second greatest player of this era. Rory will pass him in a year or two, easily.
So what does this all mean? It means the old guard is out. The new guard is in. And Rory is, by far, the best of that new guard. Touché, Rors. Your world.
