It’s true. After years of me writing “still missing” every morning about MH370, we have a breakthrough. Debris that washed ashore last week on Reunion Island near Madagascar has been confirmed as part of MH370.

The plane went missing 515 days ago.
Now, this does not necessarily mean that the plane is not still missing. It is missing — the black box, the data recorders, etc. etc. are all still missing. We just now know that it went down in the ocean and broke apart, which is what everyone feared. The next step? Continue searching the giant search area in the Indian Ocean. We won’t know what happened until they find the good stuff. Until then, I may just refer to MH370 as still missing. I might do it.
