Golf Digest — Adam Scott hit plenty of gorgeous shots on his way to winning the WGC-Cadillac Championship — but he also made two double-bogies and shanked a bunker shot on his way to that Sunday 69.
Scott made no excuses, calling it a straight up shank from a perfect greenside lie: “I wish I could tell you I had a bad lie or it was a hard shot. It wasn’t any of it. It was just a complete error.”
Shanks for the memories, Adam Scott. https://t.co/3hJIibxzDx

Ahh, your weekly reminder that golf is hard. Far too often we have to watch these guys do this.
And think that, because we don’t always do that, we’re pathetic losers. Well we’re not, because golf is just hard. And we forget that they, too, sometimes do this.
We joke. We gasp. I gasped. But it boils down to the fact that golf is hard. Really hard. You’re off by a couple millimeters and all the sudden you go from a skilled wizard to a weekend hack.
At least Adam had the refreshing ability to make no excuses. Just flat out said Yep, I shanked it because I shanked it. Love that.
